THIS HUDSON VALLEY ESTATE IS FEATURED PROMINENTLY AT THE CREST OF A HILL, with expansive views of the Hudson River that prove nothing short of majestic. Surrounded by rolling forest, fields and farmland, it is part of an open-space network with significant historic, cultural and ecological value.

THE FORESTED RURAL LANDSCAPE WAS DESIGNED TO KEEP THE SITE ENCLOSED; the entire parcel border was fenced for deer. Closer to the home we focused on celebrating another kind of enclosure. Boxwood hedges create rooms within the perennial gardens off the main porches. The rear fountain garden is fully planted with an assortment of perennial favorites and is anchored with plantings of upright Sky Pencil hollies.
